gear box linkage boot

:doh: tried to change the striking pin boot today(where the gear linkage comes out of the gear box) but didnt go as planed, bloody thing! has any one else managed this if so please help?

it seems straight forward but when u try to put the boot over flange it doesnt want to go:? ? the one that was allready on their was ripped and hanging on and seemed like someone had tried to stick it on with some kind of sealent!

Come on then fella how is it done? I've tried doing mine but it's a twat of a job. I could not get the pin out of the arm!

I've never seen that boot in good condition on any R'.

If you have your box rebuilt, even by the so called "experts" that boot gets left.

I agree that cosmetically it looks crap but I don't think your box will be any the worse off for it
