pricewise you are looking at 350 to 600 depends on your valves and what you actually want!

Dont know if he's still going but i had the head done on my 2litre 16 valve nova by Bill Blydenstein.

Former racing engineer and developer of engines.

Did a cracking job.

Bill Blydenstein 01763 272866

Specialised in Vauxhall, but in my opinion a head is a head
Hope that helps.

gas flowing does not actually do anything to the head, all gas flowing does is show you how well the head flows air.

i.e it is put on a flowbench and the efficiency of the head is measured.

for anyone that has paid for a gas flowed head and nothing else, pat yourself on the back for spending money on nothing..lol

the actuall work to make a head more efficient has f"ck all to do with gas flowing

you get the impression that some people think that gasflowing is a process that enhances the heads efficiency. It isn't, its the method used to test the heads abillity to flow air and then any effect any work that has been done to the head has had.

but im sure you know all that anyways.

For those that dont know.

The actuall process that improves the heads abillity to flow is achieved by carefully removing sharp edges and rounding out corners in the ports, mainly working at the roof of the port where the highest flow takes place and working on the valves and valve seats. This is a mechanical process that involves removing metal with grinding stones.

my point being gasflowing is not a modification by itself, but a method to test the work that has been carried out.

is true what you said kieron, but porting would be a waste of money without having the head gas flowed properly afterwards!(which i think is the point your making)
i think matey who started this thread was intending to have the head ported / polished and gasflowed, but people dont realise that the two both work in conjunction with each other.

a lot of people use the term gasflowed thinking it means the total process!

another thing i was told is that if you have the ports polished, that it is not a good idea to have the inlets mirror finished as this in turn will have an adverse effect on performance!

your quite right bob, the reason you dont want a mirror finish on the intake is you need to have some turbulence created by a rougher finish to enable/keep the injected fuel and air being mixed
