garrett t3 turbo?

has anybody got one fitted to there R? just wandering as mines on the way out and have just been offered a cheap t3 hybrid

How much of a job is it to modify?

I was told you need a strong bottom end to run one of thes turbo's and also you need a wedge shape space made to angle it away from the block.

I wanted a T35 Hybrid turbo but was told not to do it cos of the above.

hmmmm so it needs a bit of modding to get it to bolt on..........but why the f**k do u need a stronger bottom end? :roll: what about a standard T3 or T34 , 35?

I know a few people running a T3 on there R5GTT's massive BHP from them but loads of lag... Then again its a 1397cc eninge...lol

im also interested in a t3 as i can get hold of one for a good price.
what power would they be rated to on an r and when would u reach full boost ?

Don't know why this turbo company told me this about the bottom end cos since then i have found this to be untrue.

Not naiming the tubby comp in question but just let's say i have never gone back there :?

As long as you get a wedged shaped spacer made for it your laughing :D

where do u need to put a wedge? between the manifold and the block?
also will the standard dump pipe fit a hybrid t3?

and a T2 to T3 adapter as they flange on it will be bigger

only real advantage will be that ull have a bigger exhaust outlet like teh cossie etc

but most turbos that we would use on an R can be done as a T28 hybrid
ie T4 of somesort on otherside which should give faster spool that a true T3-T34
