full boost @ 4.2k

my t28 doesnt hit full boost until about 4200rpm, i dont remember my old r being so damn laggy.

its a stage 1 but all that means is it has 360 bearing a twin piston rings, the rest of it ie compressor wheel and exh bla bla bla is standard spec. so in theory it should spool up and hit boost the same as a standard turbo would.

is this amazingly laggy or normal? what you boys think and what could cause it?

my standard turbo was around the 4k mark before it got full boost. A std tubby has a 1.75" outlet, and a 2" inlet, pretty small really.

Ive changed to a GT3071r and the spool up is top notch, full boost at or just before 3k, so much more drivable and usable

standard should be way before 4.2k!!! thats ridiculous!

Mine spooled at or around the 3k mark, full by about 3.5k. that was the standard jobbie..

hoping 3071 to be at or better going on reports...
