Fuel Pressure

Can anyone help need 2 no fuel pressure that the 'r' runz at!
As we r changing the fuel pressure regulator @ the weekend!

standard pressure is 2.5 bar if you,ve got a upgraded fuel pump it may be higher say 2.7-2.9

2.5 without vaccum which more less is 2.9 with vaccum!!

it shouldnt mater that i have an uprated fuel pump cause that only increases the fuel rate not the pressure it runs at,thanks for the info anyway :wink:

just for clarification, from the manual:

section: EF&EC
pages: 638-639 (& 730)
fuel pressure: at idle
when fuel pressure regulator valve vacuum hose is connected:
approx. 245kPa (2.45bar / 36psi)
a few seconds after ignition switch is turned from OFF to ON:
(and when vacuum hose is disconnected)
approx. 294 kPa (2.94bar / 43psi)

I've asked this question before as I have an adjustable fuel pressure reg and some numpty who had the car before me had turned it right up! :roll:

I set it up at a garage to 2.5 bar then took it for a test and it was spluttering like it wasn't getting enough fuel. Went back and turned it up to about 3 bar and it was fine. I've since experienced similar probs so have turned it up a little more and seems fine.
