fuel cut defence

Hi guys could someone clear summit up for me, I was reading through an old jap car specific mag and read that the GTiR dosn't have a fuel cut circuit so with a piggy back fuel you can run higher boost..... but then i got a brochure for a tuner (not saying who) this brochure says the GTiR needs a FCD????????????? could u tell me who has and hasn't got one please

Gtir hasn't got a fuel cut.

thanks so i guess i'll be using Hiteq coz thats what they said but the other tuner companys cataloge lists the fcd

theres is talki of an maf cut on the usa boards and cutting a wire behind the dash
not sure if some sorts of FCD gets rid of this

Yeh on the gtir there is no fuel cut the ecu will just increase fuelling until either the injectors,ecu, fuel pressure or maf are maxed out then it will run lean and det the engine there will be no sudden loss of power like other systems with a fuel/boost cut.
