I’m absolutely devastated about it, but I’m putting my R up for sale
There is no reason for sale other than it’s time for me to grow up and buy my own house, and unfortunately the car takes too much of my money to allow that. I actually toyed with the idea of storing it for a few years, but the money tied up in the car is my house deposit, so I’ve not really got a choice. I'm based in Bolton.
Here she is:
I have owned the car for nearly 3 years now. For the 4-5 years prior to that it was owned by a good friend of mine, so the history of the car is well known. In the first 2+ years of ownership I used the car as a daily driver. This last year I’ve used it as a second car, and there have been no problems with either style of ownership. It has been 100% reliable and never been off the road once for longer than the time to get a new wheel bearing delivered or buy a new battery!
The engine starts first time every time, oil pressure is excellent and there are no fluid leaks whatsoever. The car is still limited to its original 112mph limit, and has never been run at more than standard boost. I have a dyno printout from a Rolling road day, which shows 236bhp – this was with an old mild steel exhaust on the car that was blowing from several sections. A complete mongoose system is now fitted which may have slightly increased this figure – the car definitely breathes a lot happier.
The car has had a recent full service which consisted of new spark plugs, leads, dizzy cap, rotor head and full oil change.
Modifications include:
Engine:
• Sheepdog BOV
• HKS Mushroom filter (new element fitted 2 months ago)
• Magnacore KV85 ignition leads
• NGK BKR8EIX performance sparkplugs (fitted 2 months ago)
• Mongoose turbo back stainless steel exhaust
• Mongoose decat pipe
Wheels/Suspension/brakes:
• 17 inch team dynamics black alloy wheels
• Whiteline lowering springs
• Brand new black diamond drilled & grooved front discs
• Brand new black diamond front brake pads
Exterior:
• Full respray in pearlescent orange
• Modified front grill – recently resprayed
• Front bumper/sump guard
• Fog light wired into reverse light
• Clear side repeaters
Interior:
• Sparco steering wheel
• Razo pedals
• Tinted windows
• A pillar boost guage
Alarm/Security:
• Cat 1 Auto GT alarm and immobiliser
• Blackjack anti-hijack
As mentioned above, this car has been on the owners club for approximately 8-9 years, so there is LOADS of history floating about – just do a search. I myself have just under 3 years fully documented history on a spreadsheet containing company details and receipts from when I’ve owned the vehicle. Prior to my ownership there isn’t a great deal of paperwork, as the majority of maintenance was done by the previous owner.
Current mileage is roughly 87k, which as you’ll probably know is nothing for one of these cars, if looked after properly they’ll go on forever.
I’m putting it up for sale at £5k which is a bargain given the quality of the car, faultless reliability and paintwork. There are a few small rust patches on the rear arches as per every Pulsar of this age and I will be getting these fixed after Xmas along with tidying a few small bonnet/bumper stone chips. I’ve been quoted £400 to fix these bits and pieces, but to make things easy if someone wants to buy the car as is and sort it themselves I'll knock that off the price, so they can take the car straight away for £4,600. Once sorted after Xmas the price will be £5,000 and not a penny less.
I’m in no rush to sell at the minute and in fact don’t even need to right now – so if the right offer doesn’t come along then I won’t! - just give me an excuse to keep it
If I’ve missed anything out, let me know. Give me a PM if you want any more info.
Cheers
Paz
*edit - mileage is actually around 87k*
