FMIC worth it?

Hi

My engine spec is in the signature below... I was wondering if i would benefit from a FMIC whilst running on standard boost. I know Fast Guy is also on standard boost and has a FMIC so his opinion would be appreciated...as well as the rest of yours of course :)

please post in the correct section....moved to tuning :evil:

Worth it perhaps if you can get a cheap one. Hardly worth spending £600 on however

For standard boost it's probably not worth it.If you want to run more then is more important.Have you considered water injection?Check Ashbhp's group buy in buying/selling.

If you want to upgrade then its worth it but if you intend to keep running standard boost save your money.

I'd say go for it if you plan on running more than 1 - 1.1bar...

Have you thought about just front mounting your standard intercooler...???

Was thinking about the fmic as I suffered a bit of heat soak a few weeks back :( when it was very hot.

Will wait and see if heat soak is a problem then i will decide whether to upgrade or not... or even like rishi said, front mount the standard intercooler.

Heat soak is only a problem on hot days when moving slowly - as soon as you have been on the move again for a couple of minutes it's fine again.

It becomes more critical if you up the boost etc. as you run the risk of detonation.

IMO - There's probably better things to spend your cash on at this point - like a set of shit hot uprated brakes - about the same dosh.

if $$$ is a problem........as said before you can front mount the standard intercooler.........it would have to be modified a bit though.....the stock intercooler works very well....i've done it and yes it has made a noticeable improvement in performance..........
