has anyone got any views on wheter the inlet/outlet on a fm is at the top or the bottom, im trying to do a fm and pipe run on the cheap and am looking at a cheapish ebay i/c, cant decide if it really matters or not, i figured that if they were positioned at the bottom then the warmer air in the i/c would gather at the top, therefore constantly slightly warming the intake temp, where if it was positioned at the top the cooler air lower in the i/c would aid cooling, am i just reading into this too much,

i dont think it matters, considering the air is moving through the heat exchanger (be it an intercooler or radiator) you wont get heat soak

Space wise, you are probably best to run the cooler inlet and outlet pipes at the bottom, as you will find a more natural route for them. If you ran them at the top you may have probs with the bumper, unless you can use a different/shorter radiator and run them over the top (like a ND kit I think). If you pull your bumper off you will see what I mean.
Hope this helps a bit.
