Fitting ND FMIC Stage2

Anyone fitted the ND Stage2 FMIC?

I am going to be looking at fitting it on Friday what kind of a job is it?

I have the front of the car stripped out at the moment, had a quick look for the mounting holes on the underside of the lower x-member but can't see anything that lines up.

I have the fitting kit with cable ties, self tapers and 10mm washers but haven't a clue where they go :x

Any help would be greatful maybe a pic of this FMIC fitted would be a help.

At this rate it will never be ready for 24/25

pete, i've got the same intercoller and done it myself - in a day. When i phoned simon (norris) about fitting, he said something about removing or modding the bottom front mount and such.this way the rad could be dropped to fit the intercooler pipes etc.sod that !, i just got a new moddified rad made up (much better than the standard rubbish) but made it 1 1/2 inches smaller.
this way it fitted back in the original bottom sockets and the pipes fitted in no probs.(i also custom made small brackets to hold the top mounts - very easy). + cooling was NOT affected in the slightest before anyone points out.i'll try and get a few pics and mail them to you.what part of the country you from pete ?.just you could have poped over and had a wee look for yourself.

Cheers Kenny!

I'm in Bristol, if you could send me some pics that would be helpful. I just bought a new Rad from Spec-r, a bit expensive but it's a Very Good Job and fits well, shorter by 70ish mm which should be enough to get pipes through, i also didn't want to cut original Rad brackets and weld them lower down or cut the lower cross tube as suggested by ND :?

Bristol eh....poping in could be a problem then.
Ok, the weather looks a little better the mora so will take some pics and send them down.In regards to fitting the cooler to the car, i mounted the top bracket onto where the std horn sits (should already be a bolt here), and with the bottom, i just welded up a set of thick brackets that mated onto the underneath of the beam, no probs at all.But with the front beam that sits behind the bumper, you'd be better just cutting the middle section
so that the cooler sits neat. This way you keep the corner parts of the beam and this will stop the bumper flexing / falling off etc.(you'd have known this but thought i'd mention it just in case, i tried without it and it just looked crap). But i'll get those pics off to you either the mora or wed at the latest
buddy.

Regards

Kenny
