exhaust question

i want to ditch my jap exhaust and fit a goose will it need to be mapped again

In theory you should always remap after fitting parts like this, but none ever does.

If it was a standard jap exhaust, then the ecu should be able to compensate. I put a goose on over 2years ago and haven't had a problem yet

Yes but i need to know what boost you are actually running...

The exhaust will change the way your turbo comes on boost and can change your power and torque...

If you are running high up the boost then i would have the map tweeked... If you are only at 1bar then i wouldn't bother...

To be honest i would be looking at a 3" exhaust with the ND Spec Hyper Turbo...

am i looking for a janspeed then with a 3in bore and will it fit my hks front pipe what sort of price ? thanks

First thing you should do is bin the restrictive HKS front pipe as it's rubbish, I had one on my old pulsar but i binned it in favour of the goose after a month or two , you could then go for the full janspeed or have your own made up .

might be best to keep an eye on the for sale section, mongoose' s do come up now and again.

the janspeed aint cheap btw but with the setup you have it might be best to buy the janspeed dump pipe and wait for a goose tail section before fitting.

without looking at your de cat its hard to tell but the goose one will fit the janspeed front pipe no problems so you can combine the two

pics of the janspeed in my thread in the member' s R section plus iv posted a little exhaust porn here and there if you want to know what it sounds like :lol:
