Exhaust clearance problems when wet...?

So, I've installed my 3" exhaust, and not only is it ridiculously loud, it seems to have problems clearing some bits under the car.

Now, when the car is jacked up, it doesn't touch anything. Granted, if I jerk it around, it does hit part of the subframe.
But - what I don't get is when I drive, it's fine. But as soon as a spray of water hits under the car from driving through a puddle or something, the exhaust immediately seems connect to with something under the car, causing a major vibration and quite the racket.

I suppose there is an explanation to this that involves physics, so if someone can clarify what happens here, I'd appreciate it. I had the same problem with my 2.5" exhaust as well, just not on this scale.
