just found out that its the diff in gearbox where bolts shear but i thought it was the transferbox diff but i couldnt see a damn thing wrong with it after pulling it apart.
il rip the gearbox off tomorrow and survey the damage

has anyone got a link or phone number etc where i can get the uprated diff bolts from?

no mate, ive had it for over 2 years now, and its been used less than a week before this happened, this is the first opportunity ive had to fix the thing.

gotta say though that everything is sooooo much easier to work on than a pulsar its actually a pleasure to work on lol
i may even take it to the nurburgring not decided yet!

yeah they seem quite thin compared to the pulsar one
what a job getting the box off though with that clutch release bearing:roll:
ended up unbolting the pressure plate with box in situ and pulling the lot off together

We had fun with that, found the best way was getting a big flat headed driver through the top inspection hole and giving it a twist.

yes was gonna do that but trouble is that you then weaken the locking mechanism on the release bearing. the clutch in there was almost new when i bought the car so didnt wanna go buying new release bearing aswell.

came up with an idea to get the hex bolts undone on pressure plate by removing one of the bolts that holds tailpiece on and thread a 1/4 extension bar through the hole which lines up perfectly to undo the pressure plate bolts, that way you dont damage any of the clutch assembly. still an awquard fooker though lol

Lol, cunning little trick that Bob, we spared no love for my mates bearing though as he had a new one to go on with the clutch/flywheel, was a bastard though, We shit ourselves when we started it as there was a proper nasty grating sound, turned out the bolts on the back of the new flywheel were catching on the inspection plate at the rear. Lucky we spotted it as we were about to pull the box out again lol
