engine block

hey lads just wondering if yous could tell me what the engine blocks are fit for because a fella i know told me they will have to be linered after 500bhp is this right because im in the middle of my build and im gonna be pushing in around that power range

I'm fairly sure that Odin's old R was above 500 horses and the block wasn't lined.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong?
