ECU

I have a Mines ECU in the car, which was already in it when it came from Japan.......It's just clicked that it is most probably still mapped for jap fuel etc and whatever was on the car in jap land.....

I have been told that the ECU is read only.....is this true?????

am I going to have to buy a new one to get the car to run better? (LOL Along with a new 4th gear, release bearing & master cylinder!!!)

You may just need to adjust your ignition timing to suit the lower octane fuel here, otherwise it should be OK. But that should be a standard part of setting up the car during tuning.

lee them MINES ecus are abit pap, they cant be "re programmed" unless they aer sent to MINES japan to be done,

if the car runs ok on optimax etc, i would leave it , but you could just get another ECU standard one and a piggy back? instead?
