ECU Problems !

Hey guys !

Have some problems with my new ecu ! bought it from an german R driver, is remapped, and has 4 programms to run.

i´ve got an jdm-pulsar wich was imported to austria. the ecu was taken from an german-spec R !

do the ecu´s between the eu-spec and jdm-spec have any differences ?

if i´ll take the original, the car runs perfectly. but when i usw the remapped, the rotaries of the watercooler starting on ignition ON (not started the engine yet).

can anybody help me?

PS: sorry for my worse english, but i think my english will be as bad as your german :D :D :D

Welcome to the club BlackR :D

i think you mean the engine fans are coming on before you turn the key yes? the ecu turns the fans on and off so maybe there' s a bad connection on it somewhere.
have you tried to start the car? to be honest with you i personally wouldn' t just run the car without getting the fueling checked with a wideband lambda sensor.
i cant say for sure about any ecu differences between the europian and jdm model but i daresay someone else will know

yes the engine fans thats what i´ve meant :D

yes i´d allready started the car. it runs horrible. the ecu was mapped for my tuning. 550cc inj. z32afm, mongoose turbo back, standard tuby with few modifications (360degree axial bearing, for max. 1,7bar).

i think the ecu switches to the programm wich safes the engine if anything was damaged ( can´t say it in "uk-slang" :D ). means, it has no power, engine feels like not running on all cyl. aso.

my tuner say that the jdm and eu-spec "R´s" do have different ecu-pin arangement !

i also can get an e-manage. wich would you prefer ? any tipps ? want to drive the car for the weekend. hope to get it done :D

is it much difficult to tune the emanage for me ? i´ll do it with 2 of my mechanics and 1 gtir specialist from austria. i´ll buy emanage with the software for an laptop ?! can i do the settings to make it run ?

i know, many many questions. i hope anybody doesn´t ask it before.

You can change the injector and afm settings by connecting the emanage to laptop.

Fairly easy to do.

hey ! thanks for your answer !

yes i´d already read the emanage support introductions.

should i change any other settings like the fueling to run 1,2bar SAFE ?

wont blow the engine :D

i will get the emanage today, and fit it on saturday.

Straight away i would not run 1.2bar, will be standard ecu with emanage changing some figures for it to run with the 550s and z32.

Get the fuel checked and work up to 1.2 mapping as you go

All GTiR ECU's are the same (pin wise). I think I read somewhere that on newer models, they use a slightly different injection system, but don’t quote me on that.

The problem with buying a used ecu that has been mapped is that it’s remapped for that cars modifications and spec.

Once you change it to another car the ecu is no longer ‘suitable’ for the new car as many parameters and specifications have changed and that’s why your car is running badly.

You either need to get your ecu mapped for your car and it’s modifications or buy another mappable ecu.

Depending on what power you want to achieve and what your tuner can actually map will determine which one you buy.

I know people are using the Emanage but on my car I’ve gone for the Power FC Pro.

the ecu was mapped for that specs i´ve done ! 550cc, z32afm, mongoose.

i don´t know why it won´t work. i can´t see any damages.

ok so you mean, i should map my ecu, and use the emanage too ? if my ecu was maped, the emanage wouldn´t be needed ?

You may have the same parts as the last car that the ecu come off but every engine is different and no 2 engine with the same mods will run/perform the same.

NO, refit your standard ecu back onto the car and install a an Emanage and have it mapped for your car.
