ecu damaged

got a mate to do a homer(simpson)fitting apexi safc to my gtir,he cut ecu wires fitted safc,car ran lumpy backfired and wont start now.ecu light comes on when key turned to acc then goes off when turning over engine.ecu unit is fitted with mines plaque,does anybody know if it is fixable and does it matter what year ecu i fit any help please steve :?:

Ive just had a very similar problem wid my ecu.( which was chipped) It just cut out!

Put another ecu on which was standard and it was dead arsed to fuck!
Luckily my mate fixes computers and managed to swap the chip over.

Fitted the ecu back on the other nite and all was fine until i came on boost then the car started to misfire badly then as soon as i stopped the car just cut out.

And now wont start, which is the same problem as i origanally had with my 1st ecu.

Do you know if theres any way of getting the chip or ecu mended? :oops: :roll:

It could be a blown track inside the ecu. If it is then you can get it repaired :wink:

But you might want to find out why it keeps doing it first :?

I hope so. Does any1 know of any1 who repaires ecu's/ chips?
Preferably some1 in the north west
