DTA E48

Got a few probs with my R its running a DTA E48 ignition system, and shed loads of other mods. I've just taken it to a jap garage near where i live because it is having probs starting in the mornings. It pops and bangs and spits large flames out the exhaust and it is doing about 2 mpg ! The guys at the garage couldnt do a lot with her because they dont have a rolling road or the softwear to acess the dta system. They did say that it would be worth binning the setup and fitting a standard one, but i dont want to loose the power it is capable of producing. i have rr printout saying it produces 330bhp and 400 pound of tourque. and i dont want to loose it. however they say it looks like the dta system was fitted from about 30 yards away. I'm kinda broke now from spending on it and wandered if anyone knows anyone who works with this system and if they are cheap? last time i went to pts i got charged about £600 with no real improvement

Its meant to be running 3bar Fuel Presure as standard... 1.6bar is very low...

they tried a new coil pack on it and said it did help but the dta isnt producing a big enough spark aparently the turbo is blowing it out, they have said replace the dta conrol box or put distributer and leads etc back on. DOH ! Dont know what to do? the cheapest option i guess would be back to standard. but replacing the dte box would only take 10 - 20 mins, just dont know if or where i could get a cheep one? i couldnt find that two davids or marks you where on about mike.
