Driving along then dies

Well Ive not had alot of luck with my Pulsar in the 2 years Ive had it but I thought I was finally getting somewhere, but obviously not!

Anyway I was driving home tonight doing 30mph in 3rd gear when all of a sudden the car just dies on me, I thought it had just missed so pressed accelerator and it seemed to judder but then died again. Anyway I tried to restart the car at the roadside and it wasnt having any of it, it was cranking over but just making huge bangs from the exhaust from unburnt fuel.

I know its a long shot but anyone any ideas?

boost pipe come loose or fallen off

i had the same sort of thing when my maf was loose. mine did crank, wouldn't idle an ran like a bad of wank till i realised what it was!
