Can anyone confrim the numbers of the driveshaft oil seals as there hard to pick out on the nissan parts catalogue. I've had a good look at it and the numbers I get are:

38342M

38342N

Are these right, not wanting to go away and order the wrong parts?

I can tell you that theyre £15 or around that price because i ordered both front seals on saturday, if you go into nissan and give them your chassis number and tell them what you want ie, front driveshaft oil seals, they should know what your on about.
Cheers

hey I have the exact same problem! :)

So far I had ordered the 38342M but it was not the good one, it is for inside the transfer case.

The one I've found so far that COULD be for the transfer case/diff side is 33142-56E00

I have to know so I can order it, please help us! :)

Toms: I'm really sceptical that it will be the right seal, as it's too big to fit on the shaft (the hole). I have a spare gearbox lying in my shed and I've tried fitting it at different places and the only place it would go is between the transfer case and the gearbox casing or transfer case and differential (can't remember)

Cheers for letting me know mate, just called them there and it was the transferbox oil seal they ordered which is for the drivers side driveshaft. For the passanger side its the gearbox oil seal which is what i need. The part number is 38342 56E00

Thanks again, Tom

38342-56E00 is definately the one for the passenger side drive shaft (gearbox) but the driver side is more likely to be 33142-56E00... we'll see when everyone gets their bits! I'm getting my 33142 tomorrow AM so I will be able to tell you if its the correct one, as 33111 is definately not a drive shaft seal ... well it is one, but INSIDE the transfer case housing

Well just got my part today, and I'm very positive that I've got the correct seal for my driveshaft that goes into the transfer case (driver side)

here are some pics

yes that looks like the one to me. who knows why it is a double lipped seal?!? The OD on the seal is 59mm. A very bizzare size. This is for the drivers side right? The one on the pasenger side is huge. I got the passenger side seal today from a gearbox specialist near me no trouble, they were bemused by the other one though and said to go to nissan...
