draining power steering

Hi Guys

Just a couple of quick questions.

Whats the best way to drain the PS fluid?

Whats the best way of detaching the steering rack from the column?

Your engine is out right? Must be half way drained. Take one of the pipes off at the lowest point and let gravity do it's thing then cycle the steering to push the remainder out?

The rack is attached to the column via a spline shaft and a pinch bolt underneath the boot on the rack which has 3 or 4 nuts holding it on. Disconnect the fluid lines and the 4 bolts holding the rack to the bulkhead and it should come off, assuming you have also disconnected the track rod ends.
