looking to buy a dp motorsport engine with hks forged rebuild done 3 year ago with 5000 miles done when on the phone to the guy he said that someone had been to look at it but could not see hks on the gasket and took the sump off to look at the pistons as someone said there should be hks wrote on the underside of the piston but left as there wasn't just wanting to know if this is true cheers

Ask him to shine a tourch down the cylinder and ask him what he see in the center of the piston if it doesnt have the number 54 stamped on it then the chances are good he is telling the truth.

yeah hks is stamped on the underside of the pistons 54c is stamped on the standard pistons while there is nothing but a small dot on the hks

if the pistons have 54c stamped in the middle then that means there just standard pistons kev!
you dont want to see any markings at all on the top if pistons are forged;-)
and yes hks are stamped on the underside, i believe wirh there pistons

Or they could have sold them as HKS but really used another piston. Like with a certain engine I know of!
