DIY baffled sump

anyone made there own baffled sump? was thinking about modifying my spare sump.
can you post some pics of how you have done yours? i was just going to weld a couple of bits of flat bar across the sump with holes drilled in to let the oil flow?

I did some reading about baffled sumps for the 'R and read it was unnecessary.. perhaps someone can explain why?

Been using my car on trackdays for over 6 years now and i've never experienced any oil starvation yet!

what i've read is the oil sump is too small to suffer from oil surge.

between the lower and upper sump there is a metal plate i believe this is a sort of baffling plate

ive never had a problem with oil surge either tbh.

i think the best thing to do if you want to do anything, is smooth the inner faces of the block so oil will run quicker back to sump on hard cornering, this is a mod im doing on my next engine and it costs nothing other than a bit of graft.
the sump is relatively well baffled anyway
