decked block + new oil pump

my new short block was decked in the build to make sure everything was nice and flat. After messing about a little I with s/h I ordered a new oil pump from nissan, do I need to have this skimmed to matched or do you think I could get away with it? If it does need doing whats the best approach?

bolt the pump on the end and have a look to see if the surface is level with the head before worrying, if its lower (which it has been know) your laughing. if not any decent machinest could deck it to suit the block it will just cost you a bit in set up

i think its a couple thou proud, i have a shop who are good so will drop the lot with them and let them take it down a little.
