CORRECT ENGINE OIL

hi lads, just wondering if i can use 5w40 fully synthetic oil on the pulsar
running 1.2bar at the moment i have been using 10/w 40 semi?
i know this is probably the most boring question that has been asked on this forum?

everyone has different oppion ,but i use castrol rs 10w/60,hope this helps

On turbo engines, 5W-20 is not recommended. 5W-30 should only be used under extremely cold conditions

So unless you live in the artic circle, I'd avoid 5W anything. Most people use 10W-60 15W-50 or there abouts.

I asked this question and in the end went for either 10w/40 or 10w/60 (which ever is the thickest when hot :? ) and it seems to be fine.

When I put my thread up the general consensus seemed to be 1 of these ratings, fully synthetic, in either Castrol RS or Millers. No where round here sells either in those ratings & Millers seemed to be very hard to get so I opted for my original choice which was the castrol.

Keeps the tappets etc nice n'quiet , and if its good enough for the Nissan Works team ( when rallying the Pulsar ) it's good enough for me :twisted: :!:

i have also asked this question and as most the guys said Millers 10w60 or castrol rs 10w60 seem to be the preffered choices..
