Coolant temp gauge problem

Problem ive got is driving along steady gauge says bout 1cm from half way (towards cold) then as soon as i boot it and the revs go up the gauge gos down, also does it a bit if i just blip the throttle with out moving?

Is there some sort of voltage stabiliser behind the instrument panel? Or is it acommon fault?

its not the gauge, i had the problem with mine for about a year until i found the problem. Its just dirt in the temp sensor connector. Wiggle the connector around on the bck of the block (its not easy to get to) and roblem solved
