Its a 3 stage paint, Candy Apple red it looks like. What this means is that it is first painted silver, then a transparent red is sprayed over the top of it, then a clearcoat is applied. This allows the light to reflect off the silver, but look red due to the tint.
IF you are good with spray can, Duplicolor makes an Anodized red paint that works this way that looks pretty darn close. You strip the existing paint from the VC, clean it really well, sand it with 600 grit sand paper, paint it silver (as many coats as it takes to fully cover), then spray light even coats of the red over this, making really sure not to run or be too dry. You apply the red until the color you want is achieved. Once achieved, clearcoat away.
Just be sure to read the can for clarification of drying times, spraying distance, etc.
