Some of you may have noticed that over the last few months i've been selling off lots of high spec parts from my car, i'm just finalising the details of my engine sale and will then sell the rest of the car as a rolling shell. The reason for this has been due to a new house purchase and the fact that i've had enough of always spending fortunes of the pulsar....so i'm now looking for another car.
I've been seriously considering a phase one Clio V6, now i know they have a reputation for on the edge handling but i think they look awsome and although not as quick as its looks would indicate they are pretty nippy (0-60 in 5.8) they are relitivly new and Evo magazine ran one as a long term test car and had nothing but good things to say about it and praised it reasonable running costs (certainly not something us pulsar owners can say), has anyone on here had one or driven one? i'm after some unbiased opinions really as on paper it ticks a lot of boxes for me...the wife likes it, it looks great, running costs are reasonable, its rare, there isn't a load of tuning options (better for my wallet and marrige) and its quick.
I've also been looking at the Clio Trophy, its pretty quick (0-60 in 6.3), pretty exclusive with only 500 making it to the UK, great handling and thought they might be good fun at a reasonable price, i used to own a Williams about 11 years ago and loved that car to bits.
Any advice appriciated.
