Chucking oil out of the breather nr distributer??

What does it mean when the r does this??

Does not sound good!
If there's oil being pushed out of rocker cover breather then you have back preasure from bottom end.
You may have piston / piston ring / valve seal / breather problems.... If I were you, I'd hope it was a breather problem.

It's not my r it's a mates and I'm baffled. Is there any other symptoms to look for if it's piston related ie smoke from the exhaust etc?

check the PVC valve and side breather (next to distributer) are not blocked.

Thats the one. Its a one way valve. remove it and clean it out. If you shake it , you should hear it clicking.
