Checking timing

Im going to check the timing using a timing light but not sure how to read it, connected to lead 1, TPS removed, looking down at the crank pulley i can see 6 marks on it and a pin above, how do I go about reading it and making sure its at 20 btdc?

the 6 marks represent 5 degree incraments. so from left 1st mark is 5 ATDC. 2nd left is TDC..3rd left is 5BTDC and so on. :)

the tdc mark shound be painted orange. but normaly u cant see it cause its dirty..clean the mark first if u like.. ohh switch the engine off when u do that... or there will be blood everywere and u wont be able to see shi*.
