Carbon Bonnet with Evo vent

I've done a quick search but couldn't find anything.

Has anyone seen a carbon fibre bonnet with just a Evo vent in for the Pulsar?

No, you'll struggle to just get a standard carbon bonnet nevermind one with a evo vent - although fu.ck knows why you'd want to put something sh.it like that on an R in the first place.

Because if you've got rid of the top mount, then an evo vent (no gtir scoop) would help improve the aerodynamics of the car and people wouldn't get beaten by BMW 330s as easily

So if I shave a couple of inches off the top off a brick, does the same theory stand? ;)

Besides which, if the top 'cooler has gone, why is any vent needed ;)

1) Err yes, of course it will  It's all to do wit CdA (coeffiecient of drag times frontal area) lowering your suspension should achieve the same effect to a degree

2) Have you ever seen your bonnet trying to lift at high speed? All the air that goes though the radiator/front mount is trying to get out somewhere, mainly it has to force it's way out under the car but if it could hit the turbo and vent out straight upwards it would save it struggling to find another way out.

 Fair point well made - although personally I'd go for a one off bonnet if I was that serious about it, with specialist vents created for that purpose only 8) Serious money though I guess.

I'm of the mindset that Jap vents shouldn't change cars :D Just my preference and all that ;)

Exactly... I need a carbon sunny GTi bonnet or a custom one with a vent for venting out hot air from under the bonnet...

If anyone finds anything then PM me please...

Who ever eventually gets these up and running will effectively make a mint due to the market for these. Someone pull their finger out their ar.se and get a mould made and get these into production.

Im still waiting on finding someone else to make me a 3 peice bonnet in carbon, or a smoothed standard carbon bonnet !

how about getting a standard sunny bonnet in carbon and then making it sit higher on its hinges so the air can flow out the rearmost edge :?:

Couldn't you get a gti one for now and get a bodyshop to modify it, then when you're happy with it you could send it off to have a carbon one made.

There is the Turini one, but I thought the exit holes from the vents were too small to be of alot of use.

nissan sunny gtr 92-96 :?: am i missing something.
rishi, spoke to james at IP and he reckons if we can get 5 or more people together then he could place an order for a standard sunny CF bonnet, otherwise its not worth the companys time doing any less.

My mate has a mould already made for a pulsar bonnet with the original vent but the plans have gone tits up when his unit was broken into, no materials and no money to buy the materials

Did think of that and probably will just use the normal Sunny GTi bonnet with the rear raised... As for sending it off to have a carbon one made... hmmm... A one off bonnet would cost a fortune...

My mate Keith does carbon fibre and fibreglass stuff but he's always way to busy to take on this kind of project... I'll maybe speak to him again when i'm home...

After the issues you had with the Turini one.... I think i'll give it a miss mate...

My thoughts on this problem:

1. It is a visible problem even at some legal speeds.
2. I've removed the vent covers, the rubber seal around the old top mount and rubber seal at the back of the bonnet to let more air out.
3. Thinking of sealing up the cheese grater to make the car more aero dynamic but this will make it look like a stick on grill and may make the car look "Max flower"
4. Thinking of changing to a Sunny bonnet for the stealth look but may not let enough air out. It might need the additional side vents put back in (like a Cossie bonnet)
5. Thinking of changing to a Sunny bonnet and then cutting a hole in the top then making the hole more aerodynamic at its front edge (Okay its an Evo style bonnet  )
6. Have thought of going to my Uncle who works in Fibre glass to come up with something but in creating the mould I'll have 99% of what I need and everyone else wants something different when these things have been tried before. :x
7. Left it alone again.

Cheers,
Jim

Well lads I have the Turini bonnet sitting in my bro's room and will let you guys know how it affects the temps when I get it fitted in the next 2 weeks

The two vents on the bonnet are not that big but I have a massive Koyo radiator so it should be fine :D
