Car will not start

I need some help. The other day the R would not start and i thought it was a low battery problem so got it going by jumping it. The next time i tried it done the same, so tried jumping it but with no joy, i did'nt even get the starter motor to spin. I then got it going by push starting it with no problem.

I know the battery is ok so after reading some threads on here i have just removed the starter motor thinking that the solinoid or the motor itself would be at fault but i have bench tested it and it works fine.

Does anyone have any ideas Cheers

did you check the brushes in the starter, bench testing will not show up worn out brushes (unless you can put a load on the starter)

I did not check the brushes but i surely should have gotten a little bit of effort from the starter motor when on the car but i got nothing atall.
