Start the R up & from cold - leave on idle for less than 5 mins
and the fans cut in, put you hand over the exhaust gosses coming out
and they are surprisingly warm/hot?
front mount/fmic oil cooler fitted - bizarre?

any ideas?

Still waiting on some shims!
If the coolant is ok then you could have a failing water pump so check that out too...

When the stat opens you'll be able to feel the preasure from the pump pushing the coolant around....

Check at the thermostat is opening too...

Take the rad hose off and turn the engine over when cold... You'll soon see if the water pump is flowing water though once warm...

Check the original oil cooler water pipes at the back of the block. Mine split yesterday and caused the same symptoms.
BASTARD to change to :x

when you say 'coolents ok' im gonna assume you mean the rad itself and not the expansion bottle

it should only take 5mins to get the water hot at this time of year anyway. siezed thermostat? have you changed the water recently? you might have an air lock.

If it's sat idling, there's no airflow through the radiator or engine bay, the fans will provide the only cooling airflow, so I'd expect it to be hot :?

nah fastguy
its only got like this lately :?
car could sit on the driveway for 1/2 hour and still the gasses out the exhaust would be cool, fans wouldn't come on for at least 20 mins
even with the fm fitted oil cooler, the oil temp never went over 80 ish (on idle & slow cruising)
now it goes straight to around 90ish after about 5-10 mins on idle
