Car failed MOT on high idle!!

I cant turn the idle control screw down cuz it is rusted still! :evil: :evil: :evil: Is there any other way to turn the idle down? Please any help will be great! :cry:

lol, My cars used to idle high,
It also faield the mot on this as they were unable to do the test.

I just unpluged the VAC line to the BOV, and hid it away. then it passed

high idle could be caused by an air leek check all your air hoses

Im in the process of sorting mine, removed the IACV and it was well gummed up, just got to wait a month for a new gasket from Nissan now :x

Nah, take the top of the plenum chamber off and its held on by 4 bolts. The bolts for the plenum chamber are a fcukin pain to get at :x
Try clamping different vac hoses and see if that makes any difference, spray easy start around the manifold etc and listen for the change in engine note..indicates an air leak....not really recommended as its very flammable but it does work

yep, apparently there's 3 of them tho, one for normal idle control, one for air con and one for something else :roll: The one i removed had 2 control valves on it, I dont know where the other one is of if there is anotherone
They were really gummed up so hopefully by cleaning it it will sort out my problem
