i tried to fit hks ssqv blow off valve today
had problems because i could not get through to that area
i can see where the location is capped off form the oiriginal unit
also where the vaccum line is with the cap/screw

anyone else had this issue, i can get my hand in there but not the bov also would not be able to fit it properly if i cant see

thought about welding to intercooler but then the vaccum pipe would not reach

any ideas?

Where is it capped; are you currently running without a dump valve? - Maybe a picture would help.
I've got the old SQV and had no problems with the install; it wasn't even the GTi-R specific fit so it's got a series of bits of hose to get the sizes right.
If you've got a top mount, you might need to take it off to give a little more room to work.

thanks pobody for the reply, too many people think theyre funny with their posts
ill try taking a pic tomorrow
its not running a dump valve at the moment
the ssqv is off a impreza sti, the reason why i cant get the ssqv down into that position is because there is hardly any clearance.
yeah i got the extra bit of pipe so that it would fit the gtir but the main problems that the ssqv wont fit
tried to take ic piping off but it wouldnt budge

I think you usually have to fiddle a bit to get stuff installed in that area, plus you have to be creative with what angles you install your bits in. The first time I installed my SSQV, it ended up blowing the air upwards. Great fun noise wise, but the first time I had washed, dried and polished my car after installing it, I found out that all the water that had accumulated in the valve blew right out of it, through the bonnet vent, and onto my bonnet and windscreen. :)

might just be easier to get a flange and have it welded on ic pipe and then just plug the vac pipe in

Easier than just plumbing it in to the existing point? - I'm pretty sure mine came off a subaru, and that was a pieve of cake to install (and fixed my idle problems too).

why not pull the pipe off the plenum cut it down push the dv into it then pop it back on, its the big pipe coming off the underside intake side of the plenum

if you cant get your hand to that then maybe you shouldnt do any sort of work on your car again, as things like that are the simplest out there, hope your knock sensor never goes

done
got the guy at the garage to weld it onto intercooler pipe
shroom-we couldnt fit it there because the fpr was in the way and it was simpler to do it onto the intercooler piping
i fitted a baileys to my old gtir that was a simple job
and if the knock sensor goes thats what the mechanic is for
