do i need install uprated springs ?

what do you think ybout 272 ones ? and maybe 11 lift ?

got GT3071 installed, car should have 420-450 hp.

i am interested in nice idle.
so i am not sure if 272 are good then...

You won't need uprated springs unless you intend raising the rev limit by a couple of thousand.

i plan 8000 rpm max - not more.

so i need to decide between 264 and 272.

any idea ?

If you're raising the rev limit to 8k the 272 cams might breathe a bit better.

Did you not think to ask the cam manufacturer for their recommendations once you'd given them the spec of your car? Sometimes(most of the time ;-) ) it's better to ask the manufacturer for their views on how best to achieve your goals.

hi !

JUN says that i need the springs.

but i know several cars running HKS 264/lift 10.5 with standard springs.

JUN 264 are 10.8 lift.

is it correct that 272 peak power will be later than with 264 ?

thanks
bye.

Then maybe to get an unbiased opinion you should ask someone like Kent or Piper because JUN just want to sell you titanium collects and double springs etc etc

As a general rule, the more duration and lift a cam has,the higher up the rev range max power will be produced.

The standard valve springs will become coilbound for any lift over 10.5mm (ie HKS 264 cams)

I would also suggest replacing your springs anyway if they are the original ones and your car is not really low mileage. They are probably tired now and not performaning like they were from new. Dual springs are better but they wear faster. With new dual springs, valve float and bounce will be less likely. People dont realise how much work valve springs do, they are not something to save money on not buying.

im in a similar position to you, but after much thought im going to go for the JUN 272s stage 2 kit and pulleys from greenline.com
from the top of my head you get 2 cams, pair of pulleys, double valve springs and titanium retainers and maybe something else that ive missed out for about £750delivered including paypal fees which i dont think is too bad
