had to write this thread about a fantastic time at brandshatch me and gtirjoey had today8)

the weather was great (actually bl00dy hot lol) track temps were a bit of a prob though with tyres going off, and i was in danger of losing some serious weight after being stuck in a mobile sauna:shock:

but heres the most amazing thing ever.......my car actually had a trouble free day with no problems at all other than someone reporting in a gt3 that my wing was coming off as we overtook him:lol: nothing that a cable tie couldnt sort out and besides i said to the marshal that it was an aerodynamic aid with the wing lifting at speed (similar to the veyron but ive decided on the side wing lifting):lol::lol:

joes car ran a treat too up till end of day when he blew one of the rear water hoses, so we put his car on back of my lowloader and he drove my car back, thats not normal for my car to be working at end of the day so was a bit shocked really:-o

i dropped the boost to 1.2 bar due to the ambient temps and tbh the oil and water temps were quite stable all day.

i really really need to do something about the lag issues though so before the gtiroc trackday il be removing the fmic setup and fitting an arc tmic as its starting to give me the right hump when i want power and theres nothing there:frusty: im losing valuable seconds with lag issues and if i change up a gear im banging on the rev limiter and gaining nothing.

myself and joe both had a great day and i think for his first real trackday he did very very well:thumbsup:, he will get quicker with every one he does

last of all i have got some great inboard footage with joe in my car, just a couple of phrases he comes out with whilst we were going round made me chuckle:lol::lol:

il upload the footage over the weekend sometime

Mayby the car is trying to tell you something when running a little less boost you have a trouble free day?

I'm also thinking about keeping the top mount and not fitting that forge front mount I bought from you, with the spec I'll be running I'm begining to think I'll be better off without it.

Sometimes wish I'd kept the topmount and just fitted water injection with it triggering at say 5 psi.I used to get so pissed off with it on hot days though with the topmount though I was desperate to cure this.

Said you looked to be going well.

Low boost is the answer bob.....and your hot pants!

yes lower boost is fine but there comes a time when you need more spool and faster acceleration out of bends, thats the difficult bit as its a very fine line between power, reliability and kabooom:lol:

when the new cars finished i need to be running 1.6 bar really to get the 360-370bhp that i think i need to lose the valuable seconds for me to race the car, i dont know if i can do this but im gonna try something i think has not been done purposely yet
im not telling anyone what im planning as youll think im mad for trying it:lol:

pete......tbh i doubt il be organising any more of those this year as ive got loads of tracktime coming up now and dont think il have the time.

was a great day, i started off pretty slow in the morning and tried to gradually get faster i feel i done okay and the car done itself proud with no problems just a little leak at the end of the day.
ive got a little bit of footage i will try and upload at some stage although it needs a bit of editing etc the battery died in the morning so are not my fastest laps but still track footage never the less!
had a bit of a scare round paddock one lap but managed to keep it on the track and away from any other cars!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

does anyone know how to edit a video so nits less than 10 minutes?
just6 spent nigh on 20 minutes uploading it to youtube to discover ite 1.30 too long and theyve cancelled it:frusty:


joe.....look on the photos of the day theres 3 really good photos of you at paddock pointing sideways in 3 different directions:lol::lol:

im having the same prob need to edit my video i got the sideways part on vid lol will look through pics now
i was looking earliar and theres a couple good pics of us together coming up the straight after paddock i wanna buy a few

yep i saw those,
those of you fishtailing are the best shots though, deffo one for calendar pics next year


if you find out how to shorten a vid can you let me know as im boogered if i can find how to do it:sad:

yep was on slicks but theyve reached end of there days now so need to get a new set.

car was fairly quick but nowhere near quick enough....far too much lag around druids and graham hill bend and dropping a gear gains you nothing timewise, just loads of noise and tyre squeal.

with a 3071 you need to be running 1.6 bar its just too laggy at 1.2 but the temps on the day were 31 degrees and i did not want to risk oil temps going through the roof.
im binning the frontmount ic and gonna fit a tmic for the gtiroc trackday and see if i can run 1.4-1.6 bar then il see if that improves the lag im getting.
all this is just a stopgap untill the rally car is finished:)

i got another vid of joeys car earlier in the day it was kicking out some smoke then but cleared as the day went on.
il try download that a bit later on
