Brand new GTiR??

Im interested to know how much the R was back in the day from the showroom cos ive been told that when they were launched they were overpriced? im bored and its been bugging me lol.

uk sunny gti-r was £22995 brand new. Bargain if you ask me

Round about the £21,000 give or take a few£100pound. It was also that hot hatch insurance went through the roof about the same time it was launched.

the GT4 was quite a big player back then as well - due to carlos sainz winning the wrc in 90 & 92 in the st185

I think the sunny badge didnt help much either, i dont think the public were all to aware of jap performance back in those days (early 90's)it was cosworth or nothing wasnt it? well it was to me i needed a cozzy back then! lol try and look for a even half decent one now though ! the GTiR clearly is holding up (slightly) better with age
