Brake help..

Hay everyone, not sure if anyone can help but I'm going to ask anyway..
I have the D2 8 pot front brakes with 330mm rotors and they work great but every now and then the peddal will go rock hard (as if servo not working but has been tested)
Then the brakes will be all good again for a while..?
Could this be an ABS issue? I'm thinkin of deleting the ABS and fitting an in car brake bias valve as I've done in my evo but I was curious if anyone's heard of this issue on the gtir before and if it was solved?
Cheers for any help. :)

its sounds possible. Not sure if it would help in this case but I think you can upgrade the master cylinder with one from an xtrail

Hmm yea that could be possible.. at least it would eliminate that as an issue if it's upgraded.. Cheers I'll look into it. :)

1st thing is to remove the ABS fuse and see how that works out.

If you still have issues after the ABS has been deactivated then it might be worth changing the servo for something bigger like a Navara or 300ZX.

Also have improvements have to made to your rear braking?

That problem sounds more like a lack of servo assist to me. - Is there definitely manifold vacuum going to the servo?

Any cracked/split vacuum lines? Is the check-valve doing what it should?

Now you mention it I have had issues with vacuums before..
When I check the servo vacuum feed all seems well and also if left after engine switched off even up to the next day when I remove the pipe from the servo it still hissis so I'm assuming A- the check valve must be working. B- the survo is holding good vac pressure so there's no leaks.
I did try a new feed to the vacuum too but made no difference.
The main issue I've had with vacs has been at the throttle body's the vacs at just fluctuating all over the place constantly all the time..Thought it may be sync or balance maybe??
I've tried 3 different sets of body's now though with new gaskets and still the same. ( brilliant brakes then rock solid pedal every now an then)
Really fustrating.... :(
Car boost well and drives fine most of the time except when it's like trying to drop ancor with your foot! Lol
Cheers for all your help everyone.
I will solve this if it kills me!

Any suggestions on maybe getting rid of the separate throttle body's?
Rear brakes are standard calipers with upgraded pads and braided lines.
