Boost sensor

Hi Guys

When running a manual boost controller is there any need to keep the standard boost sensor?

Standard boost sensor goes to the gauge in the centre consol, standard boost solinoid is linked to the ecu and knocks the boost back if there is an issue the ecu senses.
