boost leak tester

just trying to diagnose a boost leak (if thats what it is) by using a diy kit. i have the adapter attached to the air intake and use a foot pump to gain pressure.
i cant seem to gain any pressure and the only traceable leak seems to be coming from the dumpvalve.
i have tried various dumpvalves on and they all seem to leak around the diaphragm.
am i doing it right or is there any pipes etc that i need to block or something??

i knocked a tool up quick for this, but i used it in a air compressor. make sure the breather pipe on the inlet pipe is blocked off..

i dont have a breather pipe on the inlet but im just questioning if the valves are leaking due to them not seeing pressure quickly enough with the use of footpump?
