are all ecus the same?

hi, does somebody knows if all pulsar ecus are the same?
can ecus with different numbers be fitted on a gti-r?

dont think they are the same- the phase 1 and 2 cars seem to be different - i tried running a phase 2 ecu in my phase 1 and it wouldnt start.

how can i identofy stage one from stage two?mine has a big number on the label

iirc its off a '93 car.
