That pulley is so rusted the belt isn't going round it properly...?
No idea how to fix it but I'd imagine there's a tensioner you can release to allow the belt to be changed, but I'd have some heavy duty clamps on both pullies concerned or mark their position with tip ex to make sure they are aligned exactly the same when the belt goes back on?
Hehe, yeah, the bolt is slightly rounded. And it would appear that I won't be swapping the alternator over (not yet at least!) because that aint the problem!
Geoff has got it spot on. The crank pulley has slid right off.
So, easy to replace? Probably not. Has anyone got a quick how-to? Or is it as easy as take the old one off and bolt on the new one? (it's never that easy with the R)
Its easy, don't worry. Jack it up, wheel off, impact drive the bolt or stick in gear and get some one to put their foot on the brake and then pop the pulley off with a puller.
