ABS question

If you don't have abs, will the abs light show up when you put turn the key to position 2?

I'm wondering if my car had abs and it was removed by the previous owner.

Not all cars have ABS mate, Check under the bonnet.

Sorry to revive this, but how can u tell if yer R has abs, I can't drive it so a good braking session is out of the question. Rob u said look under the bonnet, what am I looking for? Cheers.

I think i'm stupid cos I can't see any difference.

Look on post #33 the top pic,you can see the ABS motor by the n/s strut tower, its a kind of backwards L shape. You wont have this if your ABS has been deleted. It is possible to just disable the ABS without removing the system.

I do not have abs and do not have that gubbins next to my n/s strut mount.
