New Exhaust?

My exhaust is blowing and starting to rattle more and more lately. I have checked it on a ramp, and its from the cat back thats starting to fall apart rather!! Anyway, its just a mild steel system.
I noticed the lambda sensor wire had been disconnected from the sensor...Would this cause any problems in the running of my GTIr???
Also, does anyone have any good contacts for a new exhaust system?
Not sure whether to get a fully stainless, or temporary mild steel from cat back!! Do i have to have a cat attached??? Its a 1990 H-reg.
Cheers guys.

Are you sure it is the Lambda sensor and not the Cat on fire sensor? Lambda is in the turbo outlet, COF is in the cat pipe.

If it is the COF sensor unplugged, dont worry it will do no harm.

do you mean the sensor in the CAT? if so then this is a temp sensor for your cat. don't worry if ti's disconnected, just make sure the wire is not earthing out on the car.

GET A GOOSE!!
