fuel use

I have just had my gtir mot'd, all went well but i have noticed that is seems to use alot of fuel, the tail pipe is quite sooty(my last one was much grey'er)as if it is runnig rich. I am sure i used to get 20+ mpg, this one has used 1/2 tank to go 60 miles. not knowing much about previouse mods do you think it could have been chipped or anything?
It only boosts to .7 on the gauge so this seems stock.

Think you may need an air/fuel controller mate.

Thats very heavy consumption assuming you weren't caning it the whole way... and can in fact be dangerous also.

Get an Apexi SAFC (super air fuel controller) and get it set up properly ..

On a brighter side... I'd say she spits a few flames....

Antgtirs car has done this before, it was overfuelling & it started to run on higher boost. But if yours is just overfuelling id get that sorted asap.....

before installing any mod's ensure the engine management is OK inc' O2 probe, MAF, coolant temp sensor, fuel pressure and ign' timing. I'm not saying something is wrong it's just pointless modding an engine that isn't running good as stock.
