fault code plug ?

does anyone know the colour of the two wires
that you have to short out on the diagnostic plug ?

is it the two white ones with the thin red and green stripes on
presuming the one with red stripe is ignition? :cry:

you dont need to f*ck about with the wiring, i take it you want to do a fault code check ?

you short 2 prongs in the plug, cant remember what 2, i think its the top right and something.

Do a search for fault codes..

2 bottom right pins of connector behind removable cover - where your right knee is if u sit in the car!

Turn the igntion to 'Run' (just before starting!) - short the 2 pins for about 5 seconds then remove the short - the engine check light will start flashing a cryptic code - that you can look up on here!

5 short flashes / pause / 5 short flashes is ALL OK!

pluggg

my diagnostic plug is hnging loose under fuse box
so there is no left or right?
need to know the coluor of the wires as to be sure
not to feck owt up :p

none of the above will help you then.

Just checked and its the ignition and the diag you need to short.

On the plug its the 2 top right not bottom, check memskis sticky bit, fastguy has posted a nice little diagram.

too short

shorted the two wires check and ignition wiht the ignition on
nothing happend
also had a nissan consult plugged in and that didnt work
the guy said it wouldnt work cos its an import 8)

it has a skotchlock connector on the ignition wire on the plug
any ideas why someone would do this?

If you have an aftermarket computer then its not going to work

i have a gems ecu but have a fault somewhere so i put a standard ecu in and tried to short it out to get the fault codes but nothing happens.

effin fuse

its the fuse 4th from bottom on the right hand side
now my fault code procedure is working hooray :D

but its flashing 1 3 water temp sensor
and 3 4 det sensor booooo :cry:
