Coolant temp sensor

Coolant temp sensor is the little red thing on the back of the engine underneath the plenum, am i right ? Does the engine have to be removed to take it off or is the a sneaky way of doing it?

What is the other wire next to it for? as its looking a bit crispy?

Sorry if i dont make sense i ahve no idea what im going on about and im slightly pished.............. good time to mess about with the R then

There is two sensors for water temp next to each other, the twin pin is for the ecu and the single pin is for the dash gauge.

Can be done using a deep socket, universal joint and a extension.

Did the ecu one on mine about 4 weeks ago and was £20 ish from nissan

Cheers fella, i take it the ECU one is the one with the red plastic thingy, is there any special clips holding the wire on or is it a case of yanking it off

should be a metal clip thingy same as the injector plugs although it might of fallen off.

Yep red one for ecu although they can be blue too

i took off the power steering fluid resevior to change mine, gave me more room and made the job much easier.
