I eventually got my flywheel back after a week or so of it being done!

The thing is... They've taken too much off!

So now I'm left without a flywheel.

I specifically asked them to "lighten and balance". What do I get? Something that was machined down too far and they didn't even bother with the balancing. It's worthless!

Oh dear!!!

If you ever want ya flywheel lightened and come accross "GTR" in the phone book. Don't be tempted to phone them.

I think I may have a battle on my hand here.

I assumed they'd drill it to get the weight down (as well as taking unnecessary metal away). Is this not the correct way to do it?

AFAIK they drill large holes out of it rather than skimming it down otherwise it will get too thin.

They take metal away where it's not vital. On the back of the flywheel,it gets thicker to the edges so material can be removed there as long as you keep the strength in.I'd have though drilling could lead to cracking as with brake discs.
