I'm looking at getting a 4x4 (shogun ect) to use for work.

I need it to be fairly eccomonical, not to boring to use, and reliable.

I've got £1000 ish to spend.

As most on here are into their cars I was hopping to get a few opions on what I could get that would be suitable.

Any ideas :?

I think that you'll get bugger all worth having for that much.

Best bet if you want some economy would be an LPG converted Disco/Rangey.

And a big tub of glue to stick the bits that fall off back on.

you should get a daihatsu fourtrak for that money - my dads mate has had his one for 11 years  138k and still going strong

I run a Toyota Surf 4x4 3ltr Diesel and its not much better on fuel than the Pulsar. But i do find it great to drive and very comfy and quiet on the motorway. Also very reliable.
But for £1000 I dread to think what you will get, you would probably be better off with a small diesel car for that money.
